Hitoritabi (Miyagi)

9th day: 20th August

I took the train from Aomori to Miyagi early in the morning. The rain stopped and the weather was good and cooling.

And blue skies.

At Sendai Station, I was at the Travel Help Corner looking for accomodation when there was this french girl who was struggling to communicate with the lady at the corner. SO I decided to help out.
In the end, we ended up choosing the same hotel (not a hotel, but more like an Japanese-styled inn). Well there werent many hotels with vacancies left so the one that we chose was the cheapest.
So, I went with the french girl to the inn. She is 19 years old, and it was her first time coming to Asia, and of course Japan. And she was telling me how surprised and shocked she was at the little amazing details and things in Japan. Well, Japan IS an amazing country.

Initially, I was intending to go on a city tour ride again in Sendai, but at the inn, the lady owner of the inn reccommended me to go to Matsushima, especially since the weather was good. Coincidentally, the french girl also planned to go to Matsushima, so we decided to go together. She learnt Spanish for 5 years, so I tried to say a few lines in Spanish to her, but unfortunately, given my level of Spanish, no proper conversation could be held. We communicated in English, but her English had a strong French accent, so I found it hard to understand some words. That was when I felt that even though many people speak English all over the world, all of us have different accents, so I guess the Singaporean accent isnt exactly a bad thing.

Matsushima was pretty nice.

The little islands.

After Matsushima, we went back to Sendai Station where we had dinner at Gusto. I ordered a grill set, and she corrected my wrong way of eating in the western style! Man! Haha she was telling me all the rules of eating in France, and it's really troublesome.

End of 9th day!

No no no haha Im not interested in french. It was just a random encounter.
Hmm I mean, I roughly know the right way of eating in the western way but most of the time I dont really care unless Im in a high class restaurant.
Like the how to use/hold the fork and knife, and how i should eat the rice with the fork in my left hand... etc... troublesome. haha.

Ahh, very smooth work, depyon!

Haha, just kidding. I met a really cool Korean-American girl like that when I helped out this group of American travelers near Mt. Fuji. We didn't really get to hang out or anything since her boyfriend was in the group, but it's always cool to make a first move and have it work out where you at least hang out together a bit, even if you have no future plans together.

Haha well I was purely trying to help her with the hotel then, but it turned out that she had a better plan than I had, at Sendai, so I decided to follow her.
